It's now late November and I've done a dozen or do workshops and 20 or so 3 hour classes. The comment by Richard Schmid that only 3 things can go wrong in a painting become so very evident. Shape, value, colour. I make one change to that. Colour is really just colour temperature. The colour is irrelevant if the temperature and value are correct.
I love the change in people's ability to see and feel these essentials to painting begin to take root. The fruit will come later... No worries... For a while, the process is the painting... The end result is a byproduct. Was it Picasso who said that a painting is never finished... It's abandoned...
