En Plein Air this Summer

I know , I know, I know...I have been busy. Sorry, I hate that word....it does a huge injustice to people with valid "busy "reasons.
Two shows this spring, one week at one art schools and 3 weeks at another plus an additional workshops in between the art schools and my full time job plus my wife and family compromised my ability to sit down and think.
Privilege is a word that best describes how I feel about imparting to others some of the skills involved in putting paint down effectively. When people commit to rough 40 hours of painting outside in the fresh air, mosquitoes, horse flies, deer flies and various weatherly challenges, they commit to a tradition and a truth the belies a description grand enough to explain the essence of "seeing" learned while being "out there".
Working with the several dozen participants teaches me again and again that seeing is a unique to the individual. We all possess a way of presenting what we see as our truth. While I assist with the tools of the craft of putting paint on canvas, their vision inspires me.
