Naked on the wall....that's pretty much what it feels like to put a years worth of work up in a gallery ready for "the" opening reception. I had the luxury of a talented curator putting the hanging together with me. But, the hundreds of hours are now there as a testimony to a lot of time...wasted?...well spent?...learning? Will anybody come? Will the work be accepted, enjoyed, purchased?
You really love the process, though. That's why you do it. You have to paint or at least that's true for me. The bonus of having a patron love a piece and decide to give it a place in their home...that's a bonus.
We came, we saw, we bought! Fabulous opening and definately NOT a waste of time. The paintings were beautiful and inspiring, the people friendly, the opening a lot of fun, and ... KW
